keepin' busy

Soccer season has started! Ruby is on her first soccer team. They play up at the Spence Eccles Field House at the University of Utah. It is utter chaos and quite entertaining. Our good friend Dan is the coach... and it is quite the job corralling all of the 3-4 year olds out on that field. Ruby has a blast. As you can see from the video... she is still learning the rules! I was cracking up watching her... I think for some reason that she thinks she has to have her hands on her hips at all times, even while running!

She has also started ballet. She took from Ms. Julie last year. It was great and all but I was kind of getting tired of the commute from Draper and I thought she could benefit from a little more structured/disciplined environment. So far we are loving her class at UDA. It is strict though... and I know nothing about dance culture/rules. They have a uniform and even a hair dress code! I am learning something new every time... first it was sending her with her feet already in the tights instead of keeping her feet out of the special little holes at the bottom until they are ready to put their shoes on... her shoes/flats (whatever they are called) that my neighbor (a dancer) had to help me stitch. And then the other day... I was informed that she is not supposed to wear undies with her tights. I was never a dancer. Ruby seems to love it though. Her teacher is great.

Oh, I love it. I love how she picked up the ball and threw it and I love how the kids keep falling over it.

She even has my number. Tell her to keep number 5 ;)
